When you need SEO migration
Six moves where your rankings are most at risk.
Most of the ranking drops we get called in to fix start with one of these.
You are moving between Webflow and WordPress
They build pages differently. Without a plan, Google thinks your old pages are brand new.
You are moving your store to Shopify or WooCommerce
Product, collection and category URLs change format between ecommerce platforms. Every one needs to point to its new home.
You are leaving Wix, Squarespace or an old custom system
Website builders hide a lot of settings, so content gets moved but the SEO doesn't.
You are redesigning and changing platform at once
Doing both at once doubles the risk.
You are changing your domain or URL structure
A new domain or restructured URLs need every old address pointed at the right new one, or links and rankings are lost.
You already moved and traffic dropped
If rankings fell after a platform move, the cause is usually fixable. The sooner it is found, the more you recover.
Not sure which of these apply? Run our free AI Readiness Scan in two minutes, or book a free migration risk audit and we will show you.

Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask about SEO migrations.
Can't see your question? Ask us.
Will I lose rankings when I change platforms?
Not if it's planned properly. Rankings drop when pages move without redirects. We map every one.
What is a 301 redirect map?
A list that matches every old URL to its best new URL, set up as permanent redirects. It tells Google where each page has moved, so rankings and links pass to the new page.
When should SEO be involved in a platform move?
Before anything is built on the new platform. Decisions about site structure and URLs are much cheaper to get right at the start than to fix after launch.
How long does it take for rankings to settle after a migration?
Most well-managed migrations see small fluctuations for a few weeks. Larger changes, such as a new domain, can take a few months to fully settle.
Which platform moves do you handle?
Common moves include Webflow to WordPress, WordPress to Webflow, WordPress or WooCommerce to Shopify, Shopify to WooCommerce, and Wix, Squarespace or older custom systems to WordPress or Shopify.
Where does my website live after the migration?
On Wolf IQ's managed platform. That way we handle the whole move, start to finish.
Can you migrate our content too?
Yes. We move pages, posts, images and metadata, and improve them where it helps. HosPortal moved more than 400 blog posts with their rankings intact.
Can you help if we are changing our domain name?
Yes. Domain changes need redirects for every URL, updates in Search Console and careful monitoring. They carry more risk than a redesign, so planning matters even more.
We already launched and lost traffic. Can you fix it?
Usually, yes. We compare the old and new sites, find missing redirects and lost content, and fix them. The sooner it is caught, the more you recover.
How much does an SEO migration cost?
Every migration is different, so we assess it first. The free migration risk audit looks at the size of your site, the platforms involved and what is at risk, and we quote from there.
What should we check straight after launch?
Redirects for your top pages, robots rules, sitemaps submitted in Search Console, tracking, and any new crawl errors. We run these checks on launch day and keep watching afterwards.
